Project 25:365 is a little more than 2 weeks in. The objective of this community of artists is to do something creative every day of 2025. So far, I’m very glad I signed on.
Some of the members are professional artists, some haven’t intentionally made art in a long time. Some are trying art forms that are not their specialty. It’s all pretty fun.
I had intended to use my corner of the project mostly for writing. I’ve found myself drawn to trying different things, as well, including some watercolor painting, which I haven’t done since I was in middle school and is very confusing to me. I started on Jan. 1 by combining them, looking at the dormant plant sitting next to my desk. I move it in and out of the house seasonally. In the winter it is bleak, but filled with potential.
I spent the next few days playing around, but mostly thinking about our upcoming vacation.
I carried a small notebook of watercolor paper along with a few paints and pencils with us to Savannah, GA. After reflecting on a really unfortunate incident on the plane, I started looking around.
I also started writing stories about my friend and Project 25:365 participant’s adorable animal paintings.
Making things is better than breaking things, especially in community.
