The View from the Ivory Precipice
Today I was informed that the new, anti-racist music history courses I painstakingly developed over the past academic year will be taken over by the husband of my department chair. So, that’s a wrap on that. I produced the milk, so this cow is no longer needed. Git!
When I was given the assignment last summer, virtually nothing had been prepared for me because the department wanted a curriculum that is my area of expertise and education, which is an area of expertise and education the existing faculty members did not have. They had good ideas and good course titles, truly, but they didn’t have the milk.
Today, it was suggested I could come in to give presentations. For the class I designed. I’ll probably say yes when they ask me because I don’t learn lessons.
